- We enjoyed our vacation in northern Minnesota. It was AMAZING getting to hang out with family and friends. For about 2 weeks, it almost felt like we “live” right by everyone. We hope to make it an annual tradition – so be sure to plan for a rendezvous again next July!
- Our house in Austin sold and closed about a month ago! What a relief.
- We found a house in the Boston area, and have a contact in place. We are going to call Newburyport, MA home. It is a historic sea/port town on the North Shore and connected to Boston by train. The house is from the Revolutionary War period but has been beautifully updated and maintained. We will be about 1 block from the water and walking distance to everything in town.
- We made it to Boston, all of us in one piece. The dogs were great passengers, and the girls, well, they were good too, given their age, the sheer length of the trip, and the amount of change they have been rolling with. Everything is relative, right?!
- We are settled in our temporary home – a hotel, until early October when our house will be ready. It is a 2 bedroom place so it is not as bad as it sounds. We are adapting.
- Chris dove head first into his new job – and loves it; he is in Asia for the next 2 weeks. I attempted to dip my toes into my new job but am quickly getting pulled right in; at least not head first (just yet anyway). We are part of a pretty exciting business with a lot of opportunity for growth, so we are both FIRED-UP!
- Mina (AKA Grandma Lorna) came out Boston to help us find a nanny and take care of the girls through the transition. She has been a LIFE-SAVER and helped provide a rock for the girls through all of this change. We all are going to be terribly sad to bring Mina to the airport Sunday.
- We found a nanny, Evelyn, and she started this week. The girls are warming up and Evelyn is getting the hang of the schedule. I think Evelyn will be a great fit for our family!
We are missing everyone. I often think of y’all and wish everyone could be here to share in our new experiences with us. I guess Facebook updates will have to suffice, huh?!
Oh, and TODAY is my sis Becca's birthday. She is 21! Time flies! Happy birthday, Becca!

Fun fact, Jessica lived in Newburyport briefly when she was a kid! Small world huh?! So happy to read that you are transitioning well. :) Talk soon. xoxo
