...on the topic of hotel living

Top 10... ways to look on the bright side of temporary housing

10. Let's start with an easy one: housekeeping services.  I might mention that it would be even better if we could leverage these services (managing dogs, kids, nannies, travel, working, limits our ability to realize the potential of said services), but the thought is nice, nonetheless.

9.  We have an opportunity to simplfy by living with less.  Less toys.  Less clothes.  Less space.  Kind of liberating, yet, so constricting.  Anyway, I am sure our carbon foot-print may have shrunk?!

8.  I don't have to cook.  Nevermind that I couldn't really if I wanted, but, I'm sticking with the fact that I don't have to.

7.  I don't have to buy dishwasher soap, paper towels, or toilet paper.  They provide it.  Allbeit, different quality than I may chose for my family, still , I did not have to go out and purchase it.

6.  A nicely located hotel is better than questionably located apartment.

5.  They have an on-site fitness center that I hope to use.

4.  You can drop your dry cleaning off downstairs on your way to work and it is done and handed to you when you walk in for the evening.  The price, is, fair given the convenience.  (PS I love the fact that I can finally spell the word convenience without having to use spell-check).  On the topic of laundry... there are 3 washers and 3 dryers down a floor for use.   can do TONS of laundry in what it used to take to do one load!

3.  Kasja has developed a liking for lift (ahem, elevator) buttons.  In fact, she learned to identify the written numbers 1 - 2 - 3 during rides in the hotel lift.  She also learned about the emergency alarm button and front desk call button as well.

2.  The dogs get several walks a day.

1.  Hey, we have a place to live.  As much as I LOVE my minivan, the hotel does take temporary living to a new level.
